rudd_maoist.jpgYou thought that socialism/communism fell with the Berlin wall. It simply faltered and then regrouped in the modern environmental movement.

Can we in fact establish a correlation between socialism and the “modern” environmentalist movement? Yes, Pepperdine University Professor Emeritus of Economics George Reisman[1] establishes a clear bridge between collapsed socialism and environmentalism. The goal of the environmental lobby against emissions of carbon dioxide “lends itself to the establishment of world-wide central planning with respect to a wide variety of essential means of production.”[2] The only real, but superficial, difference between the socialists and the environmental movement is “the specific reasons for which they want to violate individual liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”[3] This superficial difference amounts to the environmentalists restricting the individual’s liberty due to possible planet damage and the socialist due to probable exploitation through greed. We must note that both advocate the same solution; a centralised governmental “control over economic activity.”[4] The International Viewpoint affirm that; “[o]nly through the action of mass movements can current [environmentally disastrous] conditions be changed.”[5] The Socialist Action (Environmentalism & Socialism) draw strong affiliation to the environmental movement; believing that a planned economy is the only solution to the reversal of environmental destruction.

When socialism collapsed environmentalism became the new anti-capitalism vehicle of choice (Horner, 2007, p. 3). Relying heavily on taxpayer dollars this movement’s fundamental goals are “campaigning to gain more government control over the economy and individual activity.”[6] This has led to the rhetoric label of “watermelon” being applied to describe the outer green (environmental concern) but inner red (socialist principles) characteristics of the environmental movement.[7] The core of socialism is wealth redistribution, through government hoarding and then sovereignly distributing society’s assets from a common chest.[8] One of this system’s many intrinsic problems is that those in power are the recipients of the majority of the “treasures” for they hold absolute power and determine “which ends are to be served.”[9] This can be seen by the redistribution of wealth within the environmental lobby organisations. It is estimated that the annual budget for the modern environmental movement “might be as large as $1.9 billion…’[it must be noted that o]nly 725 of the United States’ 20 million companies can boast such magnificent cash flow.’”[10] In 2006 the total remuneration packages of nine heads of leading environmental lobby groups in the United States was an enormous $2,326,946.00.[11] This included a staggering $704,796 package to John Adams of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). It is even more astounding that the NRDC was named one of America’s top 100 charities by Worth Magazine and the Wise Giving Alliance reports that this charity “meets its highest standards for accountability and use of donor funds.”[12] None of this would be an issue if the entire ethos of the environmental movement was not under girded with the notion of “sacrifice for the greater good of mother nature.” There is a great deal of sacrifice occurring within the environmental lobby, mainly by the public donators and ordinary employees of such organisations. The leaders are reaping the financial rewards of global concern for our planet.

It seems that the UN is now seeking to remove Australia's governmental sovereignty through a treaty to be signed in Copenhagen in December this year. Australian, New Zealand and American governments, along with many others, will sign this agreement to commence an enormous wealth redistribution strategy. The Western countries will start paying for the apparent carbon footprint they have created over the years. The developing countries have not have not made a large carbon footprint, therefore they are the recipients of this "western" funding. You need to see the redness of this. Click the read more or the article heading to view a short video of Lord Monckton speaking in the USA regarding this matter. There is also the full version in the article (1hr 35mins). Here is the link to his 2GB radio interview with Alan Jones. Take the time and listen to Lord Monckton's talks. He is excellent at showing the blatant lies of the UN and Al Gore.

You need to start contacting your federal member to appeal Australia signing this treaty. It will put us, our children and grandchildren into bondage. Forward this article on to all you know.

This is the last four minutes of Lord Monckton's speech in the USA.

Here is the 1hr and 35 minute recording.

1. Great links Trev.
Good stuff Trev, the Lord Monckton talk is fantastic. I try to do my bit at work by just talking to people in the hope of getting them to think. The blind, "let's do something, anything" attitude is astounding in how shallowly thought out it is. Hopefully the Federal Libs and Nats will get people at least thinking about things if they can survive the MSM attack on them. I have already sent Nick Minchin an email to encourage him to stand his ground. Hopefully others will as well. I didn't bother with my local member because he is Labor anyway but maybe I should have. We Christians need to put forward a biblical position on the environment that is not founded on earth worship but stewardship and multi-generational concerns. We might then help people to be less distracted over the "climate change" furphy and more interested in cleaning up their own backyards. Like most government social programs "climate change" is a convenient thing to feel self righteous about without actually doing something yourself. The tall poppies syndrome even has people thinking "if I think I should do it then you should as well." All those apart from the top-down imposers that is. Take care and keep up the good work. In Him, Phil.
