We have written several articles highlighting the Biblical responsibility of parents in the area of their children's education (article one, two, three, four). Anselm Study House encourages parents to consider the spiritual importance of the educational made for their children. We believe the Scriptures do not allow neutrality in any area of life. All areas of life must be brought under the authority of Jesus Christ. We, as His people are to live lives that are obedient to His Word. This includes education. It is a fundamental error to believe that education can be religiously neutral. All education is founded upon religious presuppositions. The Australian government education system is standing firmly upon the philosophy of secular humanism. We can see this in the curriculum and results. The fruit of our government funded and controlled education system is the churning out of millions of secular humanists every year. Ideas have consequences. A worldview with no absolute truth and accountability to a higher law (i.e. secular humanism) leads to a decline in societal morality. We encourage all Christian parents to give their children a Christian education. One where their faith is integrated and used as the foundation of all reason and knowledge. As parents we are to look to the sacrifice of Jesus and die to ourselves to provide our children with an educational foundation that recognises all the treasures of knowledge and wisdom are found in Christ. If we send our children to secular humanists for 8 hours per day of training we cannot expect to receive God fearing Christians back in 12 years time.
